Can a pregnant woman travel by plane if she is in her first month of pregnancy? Any danger?
Apr 20, 2015

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
As long as your pregnancy is smooth and free of any known complications, including severe morning sickness (hyperemesis gravidarum), you could travel by plane during the entire period of your pregnancy. It is advisable however that your rise up from your seat and walk around the plane every one hour during the trip.If during your previous pregnancies (if any) you have had complications, such as spotting/bleeding, premature contractions, recurrent abortions, or you have health conditions that render your pregnancy at risk, such as an incompetent cervix or other, it is better not to travel and discuss all the pros and cons with your treating obstetrician.
