Can a baby's sex be determined at 14 weeks and 5 days pregnancy?
Sep 12, 2014

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
It is usually best to try to determine the baby’s sex at 20 weeks of gestation for a more accurate result. Some ultrasound machines can detect the baby’s sex as early as 16 weeks. There are factors that affect visibility: the baby's body position (so if she or he is turning away, the genitals won't be accessible to the ultrasound) and the thickness of the abdominal wall.
