Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
Changing milk formulas will not harm your baby’s tummy, prolonged constipation on the other hand may do so as it could lead to accumulation of stools. Novalac IT1 is a good choice for infants under the age of 6 months who suffer from constipation. As your baby grows older, and should constipation persist (hopefully not), other interventions may have to be incorporated. For the time being, I suggest Novalac IT1. In case of severe constipation and no passing of stools for more than 24 hours, you may use Glycerine suppositories (for infants) once.
