Am suffering from hair loss, it's maybe because of the water or a lack in vitamins as i recently moved to Qatar. Am taking folic acid but am not pregnant yet, which supplement or vitamin can I take?

Dr. Zakia Dimassi Pediatrics
iron deficiency, thyroid gland disease (hyperthyroidism or over active thyroid, or hypothyroidism or poorly functional thyroid), and significant stress are known common triggers for hair to fall out. Folic acid is needed if you're planning to conceive but is not directly linked to hair loss. You need to do some tests. including a complete blood count to rule out anemia, iron studies (ferritin and total iron binding capacity) to rule out iron deficiency, and thyroid function tests including thyroid stimulating hormone (TSH) and thyroxine (free T4) to make sure your thyroid gland is fine. Accordingly, the right kind of intervention will be determined by your doctor.
