Concor is a selective cardiac beta blocker: it targets only the heart muscle and slows down the heart rate. It acts by reducing the resting and exercise heart rate. It is the first line treatment for hypertension. So in conditions where elevated heart rate is not due to a cardiac condition (merely the result of stress or anxiety) and is manageable by other drugs (like Deanxit), then the use of Concor can be discontinued. Should you have any concerns regarding dependency on Deanxit, discuss your treatment options with your cardiologist who knows your case best.
